Training.... sort of

Well my plans to write and provide updates crumbled as quickly as my hopes to have a nice long build up in my training. Summer hit and we basically moved down to the cabin and away from any sort of daily structure. In my own defense I haven't had more than a week or two off in the summer since I was 17 so I took full advantage of it. Fitness wise July was terrible. In terms of recharging and relaxing I would give it a solid 11/10.

Some highlights besides being at the cabin included a fantastic trip to Vancouver to see family and go to the Frozen Broadway musical!

The main attraction for Beauden however was getting to go up to the bridge on the Hullo ferry. Beaudi LOVES boats so he could have happily called it a trip after that.

Kylie and my favorite part? The fact that the kids were able to carry all their own things. After years of having to take all the things required to go somewhere overnight with two small kids this was a very refreshing change.

Able to hop on a bus on the Vancouver side, wonderful.

Only need booster seats and not a giant car seat if we want to use a car over there, even better.

Anyways after I solid month of doing very little I realized I had about 8 weeks to get my ass in shape. Not ideal. At this point I decided to go with the time crunched cyclist training plan. I had used it in the past and while the workouts are sometimes a little on the insane side as it is a low volume high intensity plan I find it's quote effective to basically "fake fitness".

It was once again quite effective.

Look at that build!

I would say more training than I would have liked was on the trainer bit at this point it is par for the course for me. I did make sure to ride some truly terrible terrain when I did get outside to ensure I was ready for the waffle ride.

Only one this left to do at this point. RACE!
